President Trump Signs Bipartisan Opioid Legislation
Last week, President Trump signed into law H.R. 6, the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, which is designed to provide for opioid use disorder prevention, recovery, and treatment. In addition to making Medicaid and Medicare reforms to address the opioid crisis, the Act also makes other public health reforms to protect local communities, like grants to state and local law enforcement agencies for establishing public health laboratories to detect synthetic opioids.
